A golf course set perfectly within magnificent natural surroundings.

The Grande Bastide golf course is one of the Côte d’Azur’s most famous. It is situated at the heart of the region of perfumes, at the foot of the hills of the Niçoise hinterland. Blending perfectly with it’s environment, it offers magnificent views of Grasse, Opio and Châteauneuf de Grasse .

Designed by Cabel Robinson, once a partner of Robert Trent Jones Senior, the course is essentially comtemporary. It offers the golfer wide-open fairways and greens protected by numerous bunkers and water obstacles.

Nestled within a region rich in aromas, the architect Cabel Robinson (who once collaborated with Robert Trent Jones Senior) has succeeded in setting the Grande Bastide Golf Course within magnificent natural surroundings.

The course is set on a gently undulating site comprising of 7 lakes, open fairways and  large bunkers. The length of the tees offers a challenge for the experienced Golfer and a pleasant course for those wishing to perfect their game.

In the heart of magnificent natural surroundings, between the mountains and the sea

Set between Cannes, Nice and Grasse, the Golf Club of Opio Valbonne is one of the jewels in the crown of the Riviera.

Imagine an 18-hole course amidst the sea and the mountains, at the heart of a magnificent domain. Protected by 220 hectares of undulating landscape in the shade of century-old trees, where you will even find a Gallo Roman aqueduct !  Just a few minutes from some of the most beautiful coastlines of the Côte d’Azur,  this site, sheltered from the wind, benefits from a sunny climate and an ideal geographical position.

At the golf course, the Château de la Bégude*** offers you the opportunity to return to traditional values, which has contributed to the success of the region. The 17th century Bastide has been completely renovated and boasts a restaurant, overlooking the golf course, where the Chef offers an inspired Provence cuisine rich with colour and flavour.

In the heart of the Côte d’Azur, the Opio Valbonne Golf Course has the advantage of an exceptional climate and ideal geographic surroundings, well-sheltered from the winds. It offers a unique scenery of sea and mountains, where the Alps interlace with the rivers of the Mediterranean.

In a magnificent, undulating natural park of 220 hectares, the design of the course marries perfectly the rich vegetation and the different variety of trees. It is a course which has attracted the most demanding of European Golfers, who are always in search of originality and relaxation.

The course, one of the oldest in the region, was designed in 1966 by the master of English architecture, Donald Harradine. Major work was undertaken in 2002, guided by the architect Robert Berthet.

A number of greens have been completely re-designed and significant modifications have been made to holes number 10, 11 and 14. The first nine holes require skillful mastering of the approaches and the irons. As for the last nine holes, they require long and regular drives.
