The History of Golf in Czech Republic.

Golf has deep roots in the Czech Republic. The history of the sport began here in the late 19th century when the first golfers appeared in 1898 at a place called Emperor’s Meadow in Prague. The first course in the country was created in 1904 in Carlsbad in the valley of the river Tepla. After many requests from local spa guests, the first 9 hole course was opened in 1904 and still exists today. A year later on August 21st 1905, another course in Marienbad was opened in the presence of King Edward VII of England.
