In 2009 The Czech Republic hosted a European Tour event for the first time since 1997. The Czech Open, worth 2.5 million euros ($3.93 million), was played at the Miguel Angel Jimenez-designed Prosper Golf Resort in Celadna.Accommodation is four star and you have a choice depending on the size of your group and needs. Groups of up to 10 wanting self catering can stay at the Mountain Golf Hotel which sits nicely in between both courses and includes Jacuzzi baths, massage showers, electric blinds, kitchen facilities, a conservatory and balcony.

The Old Course
The Old Course has wonderful, picturesque settings with challenging tree-lined fairways and massive greens that will give any golfer a real test. Three of the four par fives are designed where accuracy is more important than length as they meander stunningly through the trees.
The par four 12th hole sweeps from an elevated tee leaving you with a second shot to an elevated three-tiered green with surrounding pine trees, however you cannot help but be distracted and admire the Old Course's signature hole.
At this point I'm already thinking of my tee shot for the 15th hole on the 12th fairway as it is a spectacular island green with a cascading water feature. The 15th hole is worth the visit alone but each of the other 17 holes come together to make this a special place to enjoy a round you won't ever forget.
The New Course
OK, lets be honest here...We didn't think the New Course was better than the Old Course but that shouldn't leave you worried. The New Course starts off with a Scottish links 'feel' with tight out of bounds lines on the front nine holes, and this is a strange feeling, considering we are in the middle of a mountain range.
The back nine on the New Course is different from its front nine and is similar to the Old Course, yet whichever hole out of the 36 you'll be surrounded by pure beauty. Hole 18 on both courses finishes in front of the modern alpine featured clubhouse. The clubhouse serves traditional food and local beer (£1.20 a pint) and offers more spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.
There is a 250 m long driving range with 24 covered and grass hitting bays, chipping and putting greens. The club house also has indoor simulators, an excellent restaurant with terrace, changing rooms and a golf bag room.
