Toya Golf & Country Club is situated to the north of Wroclaw city centre and both members and visitors have the option of warming up either on the driving range or a short 9-hole layout before taking on the 18 –hole championship course. The warm up may well be needed with the amount of water on this championship track, so pack a few balls if your hook or slice is a common factor in your game.
English golf course architect Jeremy Pern – resident for a number of years now in Toulouse, south west France – has over thirty courses to his name throughout Europe and in 2005 he added Toya in Lower Silesia to his significant portfolio.
Toya Golf & Country Club was built on an ex-military practicing ground and traces of military activity are still visible. These help make some of the holes very interesting and unique. The architect retained some of the old bomb blasts and tank trap indentations create an unique golfing landscape. The course has gentle undulations and numerous ponds, which seem like nature has built them, but were created on a terrain that was once completely flat.

The Toya Golf & Country Club was only opened in April 2006 but don't let that fool you as the course is very mature due to its location, excellent planning and to prove this the club has hosted a Challenge Tour tournament for the last two years – namely, The DHL Wroclaw Open.
Designer Jeremy Pern has gaven the course a links feeling to the open parts of the course and a parkland feel to the course between the trees and lakes. Some parts of the terrain remained untouched during construction, giving the course a very mature look.
Using the highest standards during construction the greens were built according to USGA specification. By installing a state of the art irrigation system and maintenance equipment, along with highly qualified green staff, all help to maintain the excellent condition of the course; makes playing at Toya Golf & Country Club an enjoyable experience.
Apart from the closing holes on each nine, water comes into play at 5 to 7 and between the 13th and 16th holes – this stretch of holes on the inward half also winds its way through an on course housing development at the most southerly position on the property.
The course has a “linksy” character and can be brutal when the wind blows, but with a great design, immaculate greens and an elegant spacious clubhouse. There’s enough quality here to enjoy yourself regardless of what your scorecard returns.
