Contested by GB & Ireland, over 2 rounds on one of the finest golf link courses in the UK, this promises to be one of the must attend events of the year. Situated on the fantastic Isle of Man is Castletown Golf Links which will host 36 holes of the finest golf on the 3rd & 4th September 2011.
Each team wil have a maximum of 20 players. Players will have to pick their alliance to either the GB or Irish team prior. The first round will be played using a pairs format and a maximum of 10 points can be won by either side. The second round will be the singles day and a maximum of 20 points can be won by either side.
The winner/s gets a point for their team and in case of a draw the point is shared. At the end of the second round the team with the most points will be crowned the winners. Each team Captain can play a 'Double' card on both days up to 3 picks. If the Double card is played and the team (playing that Double Card) wins they get double points however they only lose 1 point if they get beat.
The event will be played to the rules laid down by R&A. At registration, or before the first round, your handicap will be checked and it must be up to date from a bona fide golf club or an official society that conform to EGU rules. If in doubt please check before registering.

Castletown Golf Links finds its self honoured not with one but two prestigious and highly acclaimed awards. Voted 81st in the Top 100 by the Golf World Magazine 2004 for a second time in four years but now also voted 79th out of 120 by Golf Monthly.
Castletown Golf Links boasts its very own ‘Road hole’, which even the great Greg Norman now treats with respect. This hole only measures 423 yards with a left to right shaped fairway with all the terrain running to the out of bounds road and the beach and sea beyond. With a fabulous bank of yellow gorse (in spring time) down the entire left hand side of the fairway there is nowhere to escape to. Picking your spot for your drive is not for the faint hearted.
